Dental crowns are custom-made caps that fit over your damaged teeth to restore both strength and cosmetic appearance. They protect what’s left of your tooth while bringing back its natural shape and function.
Whether it’s just one or the whole row, dental crowns can restore your teeth and enhance everyday activities, like chewing, laughing, and smiling.

Dental crowns shouldn’t be out of reach. Most of the cost comes from the laboratory work, but the biggest price differences between practices usually come from mark-ups rather than quality.
At Fix Dental, we keep things simple. We use advanced technology, trusted Australian labs, and high-quality materials, and we keep our mark-ups low.
We do this because we genuinely believe everyone deserves strong, long-lasting dental care they can afford. Our goal is to help you protect your teeth, improve your oral health, and feel confident in your smile without financial stress.
What can dental crowns fix?
Dental crowns are caps that are made to fit over existing teeth to protect your natural tooth structure and restore aesthetic appearance.
Crowns completely enclose the visible part of your natural tooth above your gum line and are bonded in place by dental cement to restore your tooth. They are an ideal solution for those looking to:
Protect a weak tooth (from root canals or fillings)
Restore a broken or damaged tooth
Support a dental bridge
Cover discoloured teeth
At Fix Dental, we use 3D scanning in order to make precision-fit tooth-coloured crowns, giving you the best possible outcome.
If you have a tooth that may need a crown, our dentists will begin with a full assessment. This includes an examination and X-ray to check the health of the tooth, the roots, and the surrounding gum. We make sure the tooth is strong enough to support a crown and discuss the best treatment options with you before moving forward.
Preparing the tooth
At your next appointment, our dentist will prepare the tooth for the crown. This involves removing damaged areas, decay, or old filling material while keeping as much healthy tooth structure as possible. The goal is to create a stable foundation for your new crown while preserving your natural tooth wherever we can.
Scanning, impressions and temporary crown
Once the tooth is prepared, we take a precise 3D digital scan to capture its exact shape. This scan is used to design your custom crown so it fits comfortably and blends naturally with your smile.
If needed, we place a temporary crown to protect the tooth and maintain function while your final crown is being made.
Custom crown creation and placement
Your crown is crafted using high-quality Australian materials based on your digital scan. It is shaped, sized, and colour-matched to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.
When your crown is ready, you return for your final appointment. Our dentists will check the fit, make any fine adjustments, and then bond the crown securely in place using strong dental cement for a long-lasting result.
“I recently had crowns done at Fix Dental, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. The staff are excellent, and Dr. Vho, who performed my procedure, was outstanding. Justin, the receptionist, was exceptional; she assisted me with everything related to the payment plan and follow-ups, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Fix Dental for anyone seeking quality dental care! Thank you!!”

Yes, crowns are permanent, as they cannot be removed once they have been placed. The average lifespan of a Fix Dental porcelain crown is 10-15 years with the proper maintenance and care. After your dental crown procedure, our team will go over the requirements for the best aftercare.
Are dental crowns worth it?
Dental crowns are an ideal solution for those in need of a long-term solution to fix their teeth. Crowns offer the same strength, durability, and functionality of your natural teeth and have a much greater longevity than less expensive solutions such as fillings. Dental crowns also improve your overall dental health by preserving your natural teeth.
How much do dental crowns cost?
We offer fixed pricing for back and front teeth crowns:
Front teeth: $1,390
Back teeth: $999
Our competitors in Brisbane will charge around $1,650 to $2,000 for dental crowns. This does not mean you are getting any higher quality or a more experienced dentist. It means that we are able to offer crowns at such a low price because our experience allows us to source Australian-made crowns and materials at much lower prices. We then pass on these savings to our patients.
How long do dental crowns last?
A dental crown will typically last around 15 years if it is well-maintained. If you regularly receive dental checkups and cleans, the crown could last upwards of 10-15 years even longer.
we use ceramic crowns made from zirconia or emax
The choice of materials will depend on the strength or aesthetics required in each case.
Is it painful to have a crown put on your tooth?
Getting a crown is virtually painless, as it is neither a surgical or invasive procedure. Your mouth will be numbed before any filling or fitting is done by your dentist, so you feel no discomfort during the procedure.
How long does it take to recover from dental crowns?
Typically patients do not feel much discomfort after a crown preparation. Some mild sensitivity to cold may be experienced but most patients report that they do not have any major discomfort during or after the procedure.
Are dental crowns better than fillings?
Crowns are much stronger than fillings and less likely to come loose and require repairs. If you need a long-term tooth solution, a crown is better than a filling.
What’s the difference between crowns and veneers?
While crowns and veneers are often used in cosmetic dental restorations, they do have slightly different purposes.
Crowns: Cover your entire tooth, preserving the existing tooth structure. Often used when a tooth has been damaged, weakened, or affected by a large filling or root canal, as they protect any missing tooth structure.
Veneers: Thin shells that cover the front surface of the tooth for primarily cosmetic improvements, such as covering discolouration, chips, gaps or minor misalignment.
